This global commodities producer is looking to recruit a Commodities Risk Manager to take responsibility for the its risk profiles for the firms trading activities. This is a Swiss job with global responsibilities.
The company is heavily involved in the sourcing, production and refining of a wide range of commodities, including but not exclusive to metals, minerals, energy and agricultural products. It operates trading teams on a global scale and at all times seeks to maintain a robust and effective risk management apparatus to govern the activities of these business units.
The Commodities Risk Manager undertakes all day to day and weekly market risk reporting for the firms trading activities. This can and does include scenario analysis, stress testing & reporting and VaR analysis. Should your application be successful you can expect to play a full role in enhancing and developing the market risk framework and its analysis. You will have a particular focus upon capturing all risk factors, the system integration and reconciliation of PnL. To be effective in this well paid Swiss fund job you should be able to clearly escalate and communicate issues to senior management. Finally you must perform independent analysis and verification of all the market prices and ensure they are in accordance with the risk factors present.
To be considered for the Commodities Risk Manager vacancy you should have at least five years experience in the markets for commodities. You will need to be skilled in risk measurement and undertaking analysis of VaR, stress testing and back testing. Besides you well developed analytical skills you will be a power user of the latest risk technologies (such as the Riskmetrics toolset) and an expert in Excel. You will have a first rate English and a numerate degree.
